Why We Review Accounts

We need to review each list that comes into our system to make sure it meets our Terms of Use, which are put in place to help us maintain great deliverability for everybody. A quick review of everyone's list helps us ensure we are only sending permission-based emails that keep the MailChimp ecosystem healthy.

I'm being reviewed. How does this work?

There might be a slight delay before sending when a list is first uploaded. This process is important and necessary to ensure all accounts are in line with industry expectations regarding bulk delivery.

Sometimes, when we see things that need some clarification, our review team might check things out. If we need more information from you, we'll notify you by email, in your Dashboard, and Account Status pages if we have any questions.

How long does the review take?

The length of time it takes to review an account varies. It depends on a lot of variable factors, such as list size and how long it takes to verify domain information associated with the account.

We'll contact you as soon as we can about your review status and whether or not we have any questions. Our office hours are Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm EST, so keep that timeframe in mind when looking for an email from us regarding your review status.
