There are a few different ways for you to update your subscribers' information in your list. Below we'll walk you through both options to manually update as well as ways for your subscribers to update their own information.

Update by list import

You can import an updated file to your MailChimp list to add or replace information for existing subscribers.

  1. Navigate to the Lists page.
  2. Click the drop down next to the Stats button and select Import for the list you want to update.

  3. If you have a CSV or tab-delimited .txt file, select the Upload from CSV option. You can also import from integrated applications or copy/paste your updated list from Excel.

  4. Check the Auto-update my existing list box. When this option is selected, MailChimp will update or replace your existing subscribers' information with the new information from your import file.

  5. Click the Import List button and we'll start importing your updates.
  6. Once you've begun the import process, you are prompted to map the fields in your list. Once you've finished, click the Done button to complete the import.

Update manually

You can edit subscriber information manually on the subscriber's profile page.

  1. Navigate to the Lists page.
  2. Click the title of the list you want to work with to view the subscribers for that list.
  3. Locate your subscriber and click their email address to open their subscriber profile.
  4. Click the Edit button to the right of the Subscriber details to make any changes to the subscriber's information.
  5. When you're finished editing, click the Save button.

Additional ways to update subscribers

  • Add an update profile link to your campaign to allow your subscribers to update their own information at any time.
  • Anyone on the list can update their information using the signup form. Take a look at this article for more information.
