Merge Tags for Dates

*|MC:DATE|*
Displays mm/dd/yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy in your account's time zone or defaults
*|CURRENT_YEAR|*
Displays the current year. This is great if you have a copyright date on your campaign that you don't want to have to remember to change each year.

Merge Tags for Archives

*|LIST:RECENTX|*
Displays recent sent campaigns for the list you're sending to. X is the number of campaigns shown. By default, we show 5 past campaigns. This merge tag is great if you want to show examples of recent campaigns to people who are signing up for your list. See Example.

Merge Tags for Account Information

These merge tags pull from information entered in your account under account > contact information.

*|USER:COMPANY|*
The company name given in your account information.
*|USER:ADDRESS|*
The address from your account information, all on one line.
*|HTML:USER_ADDRESS_HTML|*
The address from your account information, on multiple lines.
*|USER:PHONE|*
The phone number from your account information.
*|USER:URL|*
The website listed for your company in your account information.
*|HTML:REWARDS|*
The MonkeyRewards badge on your signup forms. If you want to add the MonkeyRewards badge in some place other than the footer, use this tag.

Merge Tags for List Information

These merge tags pull from information entered in your account under list > list settings > required email footer content.

*|LIST:NAME|*
The name of your list.
*|LIST:COMPANY|*
The company name from your list settings. For instance, this can be your client's company, instead of the account holder's company.
*|LIST:ADDRESS|*
The address from your list settings, all on one line.
*|HTML:LIST_ADDRESS_HTML|*
The address from your list settings, on multiple lines with vcard details.
*|LIST:PHONE|*
The phone number provided in your list settings.
*|LIST:URL|*
The website you provided in the field "Where did people opt-in to this list?".
*|LIST:DESCRIPTION|*
Your Permission Reminder, aka how people came to be on your list.
*|LIST:EMAIL|*
The default from email on your signup form.
*|ABUSE_EMAIL|*
The contact email address from your signup forms.
*|LIST_SUBSCRIBERS|*
Displays the number of subscribers on your list as text. You can use this with a text blurb. For example, "*|LIST_SUBSCRIBERS|* people are currently enjoying our newsletters."

Merge Tags Overview

You can personalize, or customize your MailChimp campaigns, through the use of merge tags. Merge tags are automatically created for you when you add fields to your list. The fields that you set up ("Email Address", "Name", "Phone", etc) will not only become the fields in your list and signup form, but will also have a corresponding merge tag. When creating your content, copy the merge tags and paste them into your campaign as plain text.
