Edit Your Email's Subject, Preview Text, From Name, or From Email Address

Each time you create an email campaign in MailChimp, you can customize the campaign’s subject, preview text, from name, and from email address. We call this your campaign info. You can also set defaults for this information so you don’t have to retype it every time.
In this article, you’ll learn how to set default campaign information, or edit it in different types of campaigns. 

Campaigns

Before you send a campaign, you can edit the campaign name, email, subject, preview text, from name, and from email address. 
To change campaign info for a specific campaign, follow these steps. 

  1. Navigate to the Campaigns page.
  2. Click the name of the campaign you want to work with.
  3. Navigate to the Setup step of the Campaign Builder.
  4. Input the Email subject, Preview textFrom name, and From email address for this campaign.

  5. Make any other desired changes and continue through the Campaign Builder.

Automations

In an automation, you can edit the name of your email, email subject, preview text, from name, and from email address for each email at any time. 

To change email information for a specific email in an automation, follow these steps. 

  1. Navigate to the Campaigns page.
  2. Click the name of the automation you want to work with.
  3. If your automation has not started, click Design Email for the specific email you want to work with. To edit an email in an automation that has started, first click Pause & Edit, and then Edit Email.

  4. Navigate to the Setup step of the Email Designer.
  5. In the Email information section, input the Name, Email subject, Preview text, From name, and From email address for this email.

  6. Make any other desired changes and continue through the Automation Builder. 


If you need to resume a paused animation, click the drop-down menu and choose  Resume.

Defaults

If you often use the same from name or email address, you can set them as defaults for consistency among campaigns sent to a specific list. After you set the default, we'll autofill them in your new campaigns, but you can always edit the fields in each campaign.
