Pause or Reactivate an RSS-Driven Campaign
This feature requires Manager user level or higher.
After an RSS-Driven Campaign has been sending for a while, you may want to make edits to the layout, your logo, or even change the RSS feed being used. Pause your RSS-Driven Campaign to make edits, and reactivate it when everything is updated.
Pause an RSS-Driven Campaign
Before making any edits to an active RSS-Driven Campaign, it will need to be paused.
- Navigate to the Campaigns page.
- Click the
Filter menu to expand the campaign filtering options. Click
Campaign type and choose
RSS-Driven Campaign.

- If your campaign hasn't sent yet, click
Pause and Edit next to the campaign you want to pause, and confirm that you want to pause the campaign in the pop-up modal.

If your campaign has sent, click the drop-down menu next to the campaign you want to pause, and click Pause.

- After the campaign is paused, it will open to the
Confirm step with a
paused for editing success message across the top of the page.

- Use the steps on the navigation bar to make changes to your RSS-Driven Campaign as you normally would when working in the Campaign Builder.
- After completing any changes to the campaign, head back to the Confirm step and click the Start RSS button at the bottom of the page.
- Click the
Start Campaign button on the
Confirm Send modal to reactivate your RSS-Driven campaign.

If you would prefer to leave the campaign in its paused state, click the Save & Exit button on the top right of the screen to exit the campaign without restarting it.
Paused RSS-Driven Campaigns will queue posts from the time that they're paused until sending is reenabled. If a daily campaign is paused on Monday and reactivated on Friday, the first send after it's reactivated would be expected to include any posts made on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
Reactivate an RSS-Driven Campaign
If an RSS-Driven Campaign is already paused, you can follow these steps to start sending it again:
- Navigate to the Campaigns page.
- Click the name of the RSS-driven campaign you'd like to reactivate.
- Navigate to the Confirm step of the Campaign Builder and press the Start RSS button at the bottom of the page.
- Click the Start Campaign button on the Confirm Send modal to reactivate your RSS-Driven Campaign.
Pausing and reactivating an RSS-Driven Campaign frequently can interfere with MailChimp's ability to queue the campaign for sending. If a campaign has recently been reactivated, it may take a day for the RSS- Driven Campaign to send again.
