MailChimp for Shopify is an app that connects MailChimp with your Shopify account. Once connected, this integration automatically adds customers to your MailChimp list, keeps subscribers synced across both platforms, adds product images in your Shopify account to the File Manager in your MailChimp account, and takes advantage of our extremely powerful Ecommerce360 plugin to track sales and measure the ROI generated by your email campaigns.

Sync only one store with only one MailChimp account. Connecting multiple MailChimp accounts to a single store or connecting multiple stores to a single MailChimp account will result in the connection not working correctly.

Once connected, MailChimp for Shopify will sync up your existing orders and customers from Shopify with your MailChimp account. The initial syncing process may take a few minutes, but once completed, this integration should keep everything up to date in real time.

Viewing MailChimp for Shopify customers in list

The MailChimp for Shopify integration generates a static segment named Shopify Customers in the connected list, so you can see which subscribers were added to your list through MailChimp for Shopify.

View segment

  1. Navigate to the Lists page.
  2. Select the list that is synced to your Shopify store.
  3. Click the Segments drop-down menu, and then select the segment named Shopify Customers.

The static segment updates automatically as new subscribers are added to your MailChimp list through MailChimp for Shopify. You can’t change the name of the segment or manually add or remove subscribers from the segment.

With MailChimp for Shopify connected, you can view Ecommerce data for your campaigns and individual subscribers. Create segments that target subscribers based on data such as category or product purchased, total number of orders, or purchase date. Additionally, all subscribers added through MailChimp for Shopify have a signup source of MailChimp for Shopify, so you can do things like create multi-part segments.

View Shopify products

When you upload product images to your Shopify store, they are automatically uploaded into a folder in the File Manager of your MailChimp account, so you can easily insert the product images into your campaign.

  1. Navigate to your MailChimp account’s File Manager.
  2. Click the Folders drop-down menu and select Shopify Images.
Select Shopify Images from the Folders drop-down menu for your connected list
  3. Depending on where you accessed the File Manager, view, add, or copy the URL for the product image you want to use.
