Grow Your List With Twitter’s Lead Generation Card
This feature requires Admin user level or higher.
If you’ve connected Twitter with your MailChimp account, attract new subscribers with Twitter’s Lead Generation Card. The Lead Card works like a MailChimp signup form inside a tweet.
In this article, you'll learn how to connect your Twitter Lead Generation Card to your MailChimp list.
Before You Start
Here are some things to know before you begin this process.
-
To use this feature, you need a paid Twitter advertising account. Twitter Ads is available to any Twitter user with an active account that meets Twitter's eligibility criteria.
-
You’ll need to connect your Twitter account to MailChimp on the Integrations page.
-
In the setup process, we’ll ask you for a link to your site’s privacy policy, which Twitter requires. If you don’t have a privacy policy, link to your website’s homepage instead.
-
Choose an 800 x 200px header image for your Twitter Lead Generation Card to store in MailChimp.
How It Works
You’ll create your Lead Card in MailChimp, submit it to your Twitter Ads account, and add it to a tweet. When people sign up through your Lead Card, Twitter will pass the new subscriber information to your MailChimp list, including email address, name, and Twitter handle.

Preview and Post to Twitter
To create your Lead Generation Card in Twitter Ads and connect it to your MailChimp list, follow these steps.
- Log in to your Twitter Ads account.
- Click the
Creatives drop-down menu and choose
Cards.

- Click the name of your card to preview it.
When you’re ready, compose and test your promoted tweet, and post it to your Twitter feed. Then, new signups from your Twitter Lead Generation Card will be added to your connected MailChimp list.
Twitter's Lead Generation Card is not able to add contacts directly to a group. To keep track of new Twitter signups in your list, save an auto-update segment of subscribers whose signup source is Twitter.
If you have Social Profiles activated for the list associated with your Lead Generation Card, we'll apply any new subscriber information from Twitter to your Social Profiles data, too.
