About List Publicity

This feature requires Manager user level or higher.

MailChimp collects data from user accounts to help us better understand lists, campaigns, and the email industry in general. By default, campaigns are marked as public, but you can grant or revoke access to your data at any time.

In this article, you'll learn about the publicity settings for your list.

How Publicity Settings Work

We automatically create a browser-friendly version of every campaign you send in MailChimp, which subscribers can access when they click the "View this email in your browser" archive link at the top of any campaign.

To make your form discoverable and to share campaigns with non-subscribers, activate your Archive Bar and Promote your campaigns. If you prefer not to share your data you can change your publicity settings at any time.

Promote My Campaigns

The Promote My Campaigns setting allows users to mark their campaigns as public or private. Public campaigns can be discovered by people who aren't on your list via tools and services developed by MailChimp.

If you want to contribute data to help us improve or develop features, you should make sure your campaigns are public. To publicize your campaigns, open your list Settings and choose Publicity Settings. Click the radio button next to "Yes, my campaigns are public, and I want them discovered."

Archive Bar

The Archive Bar displays across the top of the archived version of a campaign. When subscribers click the "View this email in your browser" archive link in your campaign, they'll see a browser-friendly version of the campaign that includes a social sharing toolbar and a Past Issues link that allows access to your Campaign Archive.

From your list's Publicity Settings page, check the box under the Archive Bar section to activate it.
Cursor checks the box next to "activate the 'archive bar' for this list.

Take a look at these additional resources for more information about the Archive Bar.
