MailChimp allows you to update subscriber information individually or in bulk. Subscribers can also update their own information at any time. Some subscriber profile information is uneditable, however, including when, where, and how the subscriber was added or updated.
Below, you'll learn how to use a properly formatted list import file to update multiple subscribers at once, and how to access individual subscriber profiles to make edits.
Update by List Import
You can use a list import file to add or replace information for existing subscribers using the auto-update feature. Make sure your updated file is properly formatted, and that you match all the fields in your import file to the fields in your MailChimp list, so your update subscriber information is put in the correct place.
When you check the Auto-update box, be certain your import file is formatted with the correct information. Data you import from the new file will overwrite what's already in your list for each field. For example, if you match a blank column to an existing list field with data stored in it, the existing data would be erased.
