When you use MailChimp's signup forms, we require the double opt-in process. There's not a way to turn off or otherwise disable the email that asks folks to confirm their subscription to your list, but you can choose to enable or disable the Final "welcome" email, which is sent after opt-in has been confirmed. The Final "welcome" email is disabled by default. Below, we walk you through two ways you can enable your Final "welcome" email

In this article:

Enable your Final "welcome" email from your list's General forms page

  1. Navigate to the Lists page.
  2. Click on the list drop-down menu and select Signup forms.
Select Signup forms from the drop-down menu
  3. Select the General forms option.
  4. Select Final "welcome" email from the Forms and response emails drop-down menu.
  5. Check the Send a final welcome email box on the right.
Check Send a final welcome email box

Enable your Final "welcome" email from your list's Settings page

  1. Navigate to the Lists page.
  2. Click on the list drop-down menu and select Settings.
    Select Settings from list menu
  3. Click List name & defaults.
  4. Check the Send a final welcome email box under Subscription settings.

While it's possible to manage your own signup process using the single opt-in method, we strongly recommend using the double opt-in method instead. Here's a great example of why we recommend using double opt-in over single opt-in. We've also seen that double opted-in lists have much higher engagement levels over time.

This feature is limited to certain user levels. You can see your user level on the Users & Account Details page and this article explains what each level can access in the account.
