Enable Final "Welcome" Email

This feature is limited to certain user levels. You can see your user level on the Users & Account Details page and this article explains what each level can access in the account.

When you use MailChimp's signup forms, we require the double opt-in process. We can't turn off or otherwise disable the email that asks people to confirm their subscription to your list, but you can choose to enable or disable the Final "welcome" email, which is sent after someone clicks to confirm their subscription. By default, the Final "welcome" email is disabled.

Below, you'll learn two ways to enable your Final "welcome" email.

From General Forms

  1. Navigate to the Lists page.
  2. Click the drop-down menu next to the list you want to work with and choose Signup forms.
Select Signup forms from the drop-down menu
  3. Select General forms.
  4. Click the Forms and response emails drop-down menu, and choose Final "welcome" email.
  5. Check the box next to Send a final welcome email.
Check Send a final welcome email box

From List Settings

  1. Navigate to the Lists page.
  2. Click the drop-down menu next to the list you want to work with and choose Settings.
    Select Settings from list menu
  3. Click List name & defaults.
  4. Check the box next to Send a final welcome email.
Check Send a final welcome email box under Subscription settings

We strongly recommend using the double opt-in method, even though there are ways around it. Double opt-in lists have much higher engagement levels over time and are just good practice.
