Use MailChimp for Android

This feature requires Manager user level or higher.

MailChimp for Android helps you manage your account on the go. You can add subscribers, send campaigns, manage automations, and export data all from your mobile device.

In this article, you'll learn how to use MailChimp for Android.

Before You Start

Here are some things to know before you begin this process.

  • You must download the MailChimp for Android app and connect your account to complete these tasks.
  • MailChimp for Android is not meant to replace the full version of MailChimp. If you need to do something in your account that isn't available in the MailChimp for Android app, access the full version of MailChimp in a web browser.
  • Depending on the Android device you use, features may render slightly differently than they appear in this article.
  • Depending on your user level, you may not have access to all the features in this article. Account Owners, Admins, and Managers have full access to MailChimp for Android.
  • This app is also available for iOS devices.

Add a Subscriber

Add a subscriber in one of two ways: from the Lists screen, or with the Add Subscriber widget on your device's home screen.

To add a new subscriber from the Lists screen, follow these steps.

  1. Open MailChimp for Android and navigate to the Lists screen.
  2. Tap the list you want to add a subscriber to.
  3. Tap the Three Dots icon in the upper-right corner of the screen, and tap Add Subscriber.

  4. Enter the subscriber's information.

  5. Tap the Three Dots icon in the upper-right corner, and tap Save.

All set! Your new subscriber is now on your list.

Send a Campaign

To send a draft campaign from MailChimp for Android, follow these steps:

  1. Open MailChimp for Android and navigate to the Campaigns tab.
  2. Tap the draft campaign you want to send.
  3. On the Campaign Preview screen, tap the Three Dots icon in the upper-right corner of the screen, and tap Send Now.

  4. Review the Campaign Checklist.
  5. When you're ready, tap SCHEDULE to choose a delivery time for your campaign or SEND NOW to send your campaign immediately.
  6. To send your campaign, tap SEND NOW in the confirmation pop-up.

After your campaign is sent, it will display as a sent campaign on the Campaigns screen.

Pause or Resume an Automation Email

You can pause or resume individual automated emails from MailChimp for Android. To edit an automation or its settings, log in to your MailChimp account from a web browser.

To pause or resume an automated email, follow these steps.

  1. Open MailChimp for Android and navigate to the Automation tab.
  2. Tap the automation that contains the email you want to work with.
  3. Tap the email you want to pause or resume.

Share or Export a Sent Campaign

Share your sent campaigns with colleagues, or export them to your device or Google Drive.

To share or export a sent campaign, follow these steps.

  1. Open MailChimp for Android and navigate to the Campaigns tab.
  2. Tap the sent campaign you want to work with.
  3. Tap the Three Dots icon in the upper-right corner, and tap Share.

  4. Choose how you want to share your campaign. Available options will vary depending on your device and the apps you have installed.

Use MailChimp for Android Widgets

MailChimp for Android includes four handy widgets for your device's home screen, so you can quickly access parts of your account without opening the app.

  • Chimp Chatter
    Just like on your Dashboard, the Chimp Chatter widget gives you brief status updates on your account, like how many new subscribers joined your list each day. Tap an update to view it in more detail in the MailChimp for Android app.

  • Add Subscriber
    Use the Add Subscriber widget as a shortcut to add a new contact to your list. Tap the widget to add a subscriber, or tap the Three Dots icon to choose a different list.

  • Report Stats: Small
    The small Report Stats widget gives you an overview of your campaign statistics. Choose which campaign you want to track, and we'll display the open and click rates in the widget. This widget isn't editable, but you can add multiple widgets to track multiple campaign reports.

  • Report Stats: Large
    The large Report Stats widget gives you a breakdown of subscribers who opened and clicked your campaign, as well as abuse complaints, and bounced, unsubscribed, and cleaned addresses. Tap the blue statistics to view more detailed information in the MailChimp for Android app, or tap the Arrow icon to choose a different campaign report.

Add a Widget

To add a MailChimp widget to your home screen, follow these steps.

  1. On your mobile device, tap and hold a blank section of your home screen, then tap WIDGETS.

  2. Scroll to the MailChimp section, and tap and hold the widget you want to add.
  3. Drag and drop the widget where you want it to appear on your home screen.
  4. Depending on the widget you add, you'll be asked to choose a list or a campaign to sync. For example, if you add the Add Subscriber widget, we'll ask you to choose a list.

Your widget will now appear on your home screen. Repeat this process to add additional widgets.
