iOS 8.2+, it will also appear in the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. The Apple Watch app requires an iPhone 5 or later.
Below, you'll learn how to turn MailChimp for iOS on or off, and how to use it on your Apple Watch.
Add MailChimp to the Apple Watch
To add MailChimp to your Apple Watch, follow the steps below.
- Launch the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
- Tap MailChimp.
- Toggle Show App on Apple Watch to green to add the app to your watch.
About MailChimp for Apple Watch
MailChimp for iOS connects to your Apple Watch so you can view general report and list information, and receive campaign notifications from your MailChimp account.
Apple Watch Features
- Force Touch
Press your watch screen firmly to use Apple Watch's Force Touch, which opens an additional options menu. You'll use Force Touch to navigate between list and report information in MailChimp for iOS. Depending on your location in the app, you'll see Go to Lists or Go to Reports menu options.
Handoff is an Apple feature that allows you to begin working on one iOS device and pick up where you left off on another. Handoff is available in MailChimp for iOS version 3.5 and later.
MailChimp for iOS pushes notifications to Apple Watch when you push a campaign preview to mobile and when a campaign is sent from your account.
- Campaign Sent
The Campaign Sent notification displays the date and time the campaign was sent, the campaign name, the list the campaign was sent to, and the number of recipients. When your Apple Watch battery is low, the Campaign Sent notification only displays the campaign name and Dismiss button. Tap Dismiss on the Apple Watch or iPhone to clear the notification from both devices.
- Push to Mobile
When you push a campaign preview to mobile from the Preview and Test drop-down menu in the Campaign Builder, MailChimp displays a notification on your Apple Watch. After you've viewed the preview on your iPhone, tap Dismiss on your Apple Watch to remove the notification from your watch and the preview from your phone.
When you launch MailChimp on your Apple Watch, it displays a report overview for your most recently sent campaign. You'll see the campaign name, the number of recipients, and the date the campaign was sent.
From the Reports screen, swipe left to view opens and clicks for that campaign. The Opens screen displays the open rate, the number of unique opens, and open average for the list. The Clicks screen displays the click rate, the number of unique clicks, and the click average for the list.
To see other recently sent campaigns, use Force Touch to open the options menu. From the options menu, tap Switch report to choose from up to 16 recent campaign reports.
Apple Watch displays information on up to 24 lists from your MailChimp account. To access list information, follow the steps below.
- Use Force Touch to open the options menu.
Go to Lists.
- Use the digital crown to scroll to the list you want to work with, and tap the list name.
Swipe to the left to view the number of subscribes and unsubscribes for that list. The Gained screen displays how many people signed up after the last campaign was sent, and how long ago the last new subscriber was added. The Lost screen displays how many people have unsubscribed since the last campaign was sent, and how long ago the last person unsubscribed.
