Best Practices for Account Security

We take security very seriously and want to help you keep your account as safe and secure as possible. If we detect someone doing anything suspicious in your account, we'll lock it down and verify that it's actually you.

In this article, we walk you through the two different verification methods we use.

SMS Text Message Verification

We encourage you to use our SMS (text message) verification method in order to access your account. If we see patterns that seem unusual for your account, we'll send you a text message with a verification code before you can log in. When you receive the message on your mobile phone, enter the verification code into your web browser to finish logging in to your account.

Security Questions

To use the security question authentication, set up three questions and answers. These security questions are used when you log in from an unknown IP address, to verify your identity within the application, or when you need to change any billing information. The security questions, in addition to the account password, help ensure that your MailChimp account is protected and your identity is safe.

You can change your security questions at any time.

Additional Security

Use a mobile authenticator app or SMS text message authentication to add two-factor authentication to your MailChimp account. You'll get a 10% discount when you set up two-factor authentication and require it for the account owner and all admins on your account, just for being extra secure.
