Role-based email addresses aren't generally people, they're built for functions like marketing or customer service, so we don't allow them to be imported to your list. These types of addresses are usually anonymous company addresses that can be managed by several people or change hands quite often as people change jobs or positions. This can result in a high rate of spam complaints for role-based addresses making them too risky to allow them to be imported in bulk.
If you have role-based addresses on your list that you think may be the personal email account of someone who would like to be on your list, they can still be added to your list. You'll just need to take an extra step or two to make sure you know a human wants to get the email and won't report you for spamming a shared email address. Here are your options:
- Best Option: You can email them through your email program (like Outlook or Gmail) and ask them if they'd like to subscribe to your list, and include a link to your signup form.
- Second Option: If you can verify that each role-based address you are adding has given you specific permission to send them emails through a bulk service, then you can manually add each address to your list by going to Lists > add people for the list you're working with.
We know this can be a bit tedious, but we can't bypass this rule and upload a list on our side or manually enter the addresses for you.
